As a member of GGS you have a research service available to you for queries from our book and periodical collection that is housed at Concordia University Library Technology Center, St. Paul. This makes our collection information available to all even if you do not live in the area. You can send a brief, specific research request asking the Research Committee. Our nominal fee is $5.00 per book or periodical searched. Your request must also include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.
Please note - we do not collect or maintain any birth, marriage, or death records. For that you would have to consult other repositories that specialize in that sort of data.

Send your request to:

GGS Research Committee
P.O. Box 16312
St. Paul, MN 55116-0312

Translations

The GGS members and others listed will do translations from German to English. Contact them individually to discuss their availability, their experience, and the scope, schedule, and cost of your project.

Script means Handwritten; Print means printed or typed.

To Locate a Translator near your residence, check whether the local school district offers German and if so ask the teacher to translate for a suitable fee.

If you need translators for other languages, see the list at the Federation of East European Family History Societies (FEEFHS) website http://www.feefhs.org/

When working with a translator send only a copy of the original document, not the original.
GGS has Translators available should you have a need to use one.
