Title:
Geschichte des Marktes Moosbach
(History of the Market Municipality of Moosbach)
Author:
Siegfried Poblotzki
Call Number:R943.3
P7506g 1982
Summary:
This book, similar in content to many U.S. county history books, covers about 40
Bavarian villages whose center of commerce is the town of Moosbach. The book covers major historical
events in the area from the 15th to the 20th
century. Moosbach (Kr. Vohenstrauβ)
is located in eastern
Bavaria
near the Czech border. The book contains a wealth of
genealogical information for the villages that made up the
market municipality
of Moosbach as well as
for the town of
Moosbach
itself. Some of the information contained in the book is names
of residents from the 16th through the 20th
centuries, biographical sketches, information on churches (not
all are Catholic), schools, cemeteries, major fires and wars.
Information about Jewish organizations and Bohemian groups with
which trade occurred is also included. Many photos and
illustrations help in understanding what life was like in this
area over the centuries.
